Hello!
Today, I am in awe of the vast array of career and growth opportunities in this industry. From data analytics to truck operations, from warehouse management to sales and customer service, there is a place for every personality type and skill set in trade and logistics. And FCBF Members are a great example of this!

Last week, we got boots on the ground and made quite a few visits to some of our FCBF members. We saw the clockwork-like operations of Averitt Express‘ terminal in Sunrise, got to discuss the potential impacts of the Internet of Things with new members Telonline, and chatted about strategic career growth with long-time members K.Carlton. We also got a behind-the-scenes peek at the brand-new 250,000 sqft freezer storage facility being opened by Lineage Logistics next month.

In the latest on trade with China, we saw a CSMS message published on February 18, where U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued guidance to the Trade for the seventh round of product exclusion from Tranche 3 of the Section 301 investigation related to goods from China.

As the news about COVID-19 doesn’t seem to slow down, I’m starting to see a lot of interest in tech-enabled solutions to parts of the supply chain. Robots are enabling contactless-delivery for e-commerce already, and I’m sure we’ll see more out-of-the-box ideas announced as we move forward. The FDA also released a statement on how they’ll be ensuring quality of foreign products even amidst the outbreak.

The FDA announced that wholesaler Costco will be the first participant in the new Voluntary Qualified Importer Program. Importers can still submit a Notice of Intent to Participate via the FDA’s Industry System’s website.

What are you working on that you’re excited about? Go ahead, reply to this email. I read every one.

Best,

Megan Conyers
EVP
